Peoples Democratic Party, PDP governorship running mate, Arc. Yomi Awoniyi yesterday took an indirect jibe at his All Progressives Congress, APC rival, James Faleke when he asked his people not to reject him given that he has never stayed away from them.
Speaking at a rally at ECWA Primary School, Egbe, Yagba Federal Constituency, Awoniyi who is from the constituency told the crowd that he had always identified with their pains and should as such not be rejected by his own people.

“I am your son. You all know me. I have never represented the people of Lagos. I am always with you and I know where the shoe pinches. Let us do it together on November 21,” he said in an apparent dig at the APC governorship running mate, James Faleke, who was elected to the House of Representatives to represent Ikeja Federal Constituency in Lagos State. Before then, Faleke had also served as chairman of Ikeja Local Government Area.
Arc. Awoniyi, who received a resounding ovation at the end of his address also led other party chieftains to visit party leaders in the Federal Constituency as the rally was turned into a carnival in Isanlu and Odo Ere as party faithful stormed the streets to drum up support for the PDP.

Addressing the rally earlier, leader of the party in Yagba Federal Constituency and former Deputy Governor, Chief Samuel Akande also expressed confidence that President Muhammadu Buhari will midwife a free and fair election on November 21.
“President Muhammadu Buhari cannot afford to lower the bar that has been set which ensured credible polls in 2015. While our opponents are preaching maiming, we urge our supporters to remain calm and keep campaigning vigorously for the re-election of our governor. We are sure PDP will clear the three Local Government Areas in Yagba”.
Also speaking at the event, a former member of the House of Representatives, Tolorunjuwon Faniyi assured the people of continued delivery of democracy dividends if Wada is re-elected on November 21. He said the PDP has been fair by ensuring the Federal Constituency produced the Deputy Governor of the state.
Speaking after inspecting government projects in the three Local Government Areas of Yagba Federal Constituency, the Deputy Governor of the state, Arc. Yomi Awoniyi said Wada remains the best man for the job. “I have listened to everyone here. I have entered markets and the streets to know what the people who elected us in 2011 feel about our administration. What I found out is that our people trust us to drive this state forward,”he said.
