Some police officers from Germany on Monday, November 17 commenced a training for personnel of some notable Nigerian security outfits.

The officers – including those from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Department of State Services (DSS), National Drug and Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) among others – were taken on courses like the “Principle and Methods of Police Evaluation” by the instructors from the Bundeskriminalamt (BKA) also known as German Federal Criminal Police.
The training programme expected to last for eight days will enable the trainees to structure data for their various investigative activities which will improve their work performance.
Speaking at the opening of the training, the head of operations of the EFCC Lagos office Iliyasu Kwarbai admonished the trainees to make use of the opportunity to deal with information as security operatives.
He also thanked that German counterparts for the support to the EFCC.
Also speaking, the international coordinator of the BKA Otto B. Simon said the federal investigative agency of Germany coordinates operations between the federal and state police forces.
Simon said the BKA investigates cases of international organized crimes, terrorism, and related cases of national security among others.
He said the training is expected to help participants handle, structure information and how to user techniques that will make them readable and understandable.
Meanwhile, the former chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Lamorde who was recently removed by President Muhammadu Buhari is set to face the senate over corrupt allegations against him.
The former chairman was replaced with Ibrahim Mangu, an assistant commissioner of police and a member of the Presidential Advisory Committee on Anti-Corruption.
