“Important win tonight”, “Professional away performance” – Liverpool players on win in Kazan

Liverpool saw off Rubin Kazan 1-0 in the Europa League courtesy of Jordon Ibe‘s second half goal, becoming the first English side to win in Kazan.

The players will now make the 2,500 mile trip back to Merseyside and begin their recovery and preparation ahead of Sunday’s home match against Crystal Palace.

“Professional away performance: win/clean sheet & not in easiest conditions. Back to Liverpool, recover for Sun,” wrote goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.

“Apparently 1st clean sheet for a LFC team in Russia also! Shout out to the LFC fans who made the trip to Kazan!” he added.
