Students of the Lagos State University (LASU) have lamented the recent increment on their tuition fees by the institution’s management.

He disclosed that the state government may be towing the path of the last administration which increased their school fees by about 250%.
In a brief chat with our correspondent, the students’ leader said: “this was also how they started with our school fees back then before it became unbearable.
“They have increased the acceptance fees from N10,000 to N20,000 and have also increase the Indigineship Verification Fee from N1,000 to N5,000.
“We totally condemn this act by the school management and we want the general public to be aware of this new development so that they do not say LASU students are always violent or unruly in their behaviour.”
Asked whether the students would resort to protests, Onikoro, who is presently in Abuja for a workshop, noted that the students were not thinking about any demonstration just yet
He said: “We are not thinking of any protests just yet. As a matter of fact, we are yet to reach a conclusion on what to do about the issue. All we are doing right now is to sensitise the media on what is happening on our campus.
“When we return, we shall fashion out a way to address the issue in the best appropriate way possible.”
The crisis in the institution as regards their former Vice Chancellor, Professor John Obafunwa had only recently been resolved as he was made to vacate his position and Professor Fidelis Njokanma brought up to act in his place.
Meanwhile, some students of the Akwa Ibom state university recently protestedtheir continued oppression by the school management.
