[News] Saudi Announces Sept 24 As Sallah

The Saudi Arabian Moon Sighting Committee has announced Wednesday, September 23 as the new date for Arafat.
The Day of Arafat is an important observance which falls during the Islamic month of Hajj, the Islamic pilgrimage to Makkah.
The date was earlier fixed for September 22, while September 23 was for the Eid-il-adha (Day of Sacrifice).

In a notice yesterday night by the Saudi Arabia Judiciary, the expected moon of the Month of Dhul-Hijja 1435 was not sighted on Sunday, September 13 , hence the month of Dhul- Qadha will be counted to be 30.
This means that the month of Dhul-Hijja will commence on Tuesday, September 15, shifting the day of Arafat from Tuesday, September 22 to Wednesday, September 23, hence Eid-El-Kabir (Day of Sacrifice) will now be September 24.
Meanwhile,  in a Uba Mana, the spokesman of National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCOW) states that investigation has commenced on the matter.
