Alan Sheehan's strike sees Notts County beat high-flying Portsmouth

Alan Sheehan's stunning free-kick made it six league wins out of seven at Meadow Lane for Notts County as they secured a 2-1 win over high-flying Portsmouth.

Pompey had taken the lead in the 19th minute when Caolan Lavery stole in at the near post to convert a low cross from Enda Stevens.
But three minutes later Graham Burke curled in a lovely volley to level before Sheehan won it on 77 minutes with his first goal since returning to the Magpies.
Lavery handed the visitors the lead but after Christian Burgess handled just inside his own half to earn himself a booking, Sheehan's free-kick was only half-cleared to Burke who finished well.
Portsmouth's response was swift and Lavery almost restored their lead with a near-post drive which was beaten away by Roy Carroll.
The Northern Ireland international goalkeeper then went one better as he produced a fabulous fingertip stop to push Adam Webster's drive onto the post.
Portsmouth continued to look for a second goal, but it was Notts who grabbed it when Sheehan, on loan from Bradford, curled in a free-kick which deceivedBrian Murphy.
