how will Jorgie Porter and Lady Colin Campbell cope with their Bushtucker Trial?

Ed Power gives his verdict on the new contestants (and old presenters) in I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, including Chris Eubank and Brian Friedman

Ten million viewers tuned in for series launch

Not bad, you might say, but actually that figure is half a million down on last year's launch show. Even worse, in terms of viewing figures, it was the worst start to an I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! since 2009.
The series lauch averaged 9.8 million viewers and a 43.6% share of all TV viewing.

The verdict is in

Our TV critic Ed Power was keeping a close eye on proceedings last night and had the following thoughts:
"There have been complaints that the 2015 line-up is among the weakest in the show's history. Admittedly, several participants stretched the definition of fame to its limit, in particular X Factor choreographer Brian Friedman (he appeared to have qualified on the basis of being mates with Simon Cowell) and unheard of Hollyoaks actress Jorgie Porter – last-minute stand-in for fellow unheard of Hollyoaks actress Stephanie Davis (found to suffer a potentially dangerous nut allergy).
Star Wattage? The celebrities arrive in camp
"But what the guinea pigs lacked in star wattage they more than compensated for in their capacity for melodrama and improvised eccentricity. Especially impressive in this regard was Most Haunted hostYvette Fielding, bursting alarmingly into song when tickled by a crab, and Bushtucker Trial nominee Chris Eubank, who went into an impressive zen trance while the cockroaches rained down.
"Watching as outwardly normal people reveal the fruitcake within is, of course, part of the charm of I'm A Celebrity... – by those standards, this year's stumble through the jungle was off to a fiendishly rollicking beginning.
"A word, too, about presenters Ant and Dec, who arrived in a vintage bi-plane nearly as outdated as their jokes ("We endeavour to put a smile on your face by wiping the smile off their faces" was about as sharp as the quipping got). Still, they brought the right mix of schadenfreude and blokes-down-the-pub bonhomie as they presided over the cartoon degradation of the trialists – or at least they did when not banging on about the new I'm A Celebrity App."

Trouble in paradise?

There could be "handbugs" at dawn when the new celebrities enter the camp later this series. Ferne McCann and Vicky Pattison both have history with The Only Way is Essex star Charlie Sims.
McCann claims that, after she and Sims broke up in 2013, he and Pattison enjoyed a brief relationship. Have the wounds healed?
The man in the middle: TOWIE star Charlie Sims
Pattison claims that they have, saying in a recent interview: "Mine and Ferne's relationship has always been turbulent – she once slagged me off because I went on a date with her ex Charlie Sims, but we smoothed it all over."
However, McCann seems less sure. Speaking about Pattison's autobiography (I know!), she said: "Vicky Pattison's new autobiography is called Nothing But The Truth. I'm surprised – considering she hasn't told the whole truth.
"She happily missed out the fact she slept with Charlie when we were apart, claiming they only kissed."
Can someone please call this chap's agent and get him on the next plane to Australia?

Jorgie Porter favourite to win I'm a Celebrity...

The dust has hardly settled after the first night in camp – when some very strange noises were coming from the direction of Duncan Bannatyne – but the bookies already think they know who is going to win this series of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!
Step forward, Jorgie Porter.
It could be her Hollyoaks fanbase or perhaps it's her early flirting with Union J's George Shelley but either way, Porter is firm favourite at the top of the betting market.
I'd be keeping my powder dry, however, until we've seen how she gets on in tonight's Bushtucker Trial.
BetVictor Spokesperson Charlie McCann explained: "Reports suggest three new camp members – Spencer MatthewsFerne McCann and Vicky Pattison – will enter the camp soon but they are at a disadvantage straight away in their quest to become King or Queen of the Jungle.
"Jorgie, George and Tony Hadley have been the best backed in the opening 24 hours of the three-week ordeal. George looks smitten already and you would imagine viewers will want the pair to go deep into the competition to see if their romance blossoms."
Jorgie Porter 11/4
Tony Hadley 5/1
George Shelley 5/1
Chris Eubank 11/2
Duncan Bannatyne 12/1
Vicky Pattison 12/1
Spencer Matthews 12/1
Lady Colin Campbell 14/1
Ferne McCann 20/1
Kieron Dyer 22/1
Brian Friedman 22/1
Yvette Fielding 22/1
Susannah Constantine 28/1

Crickets and cockraoches for Jorgie and Lady C

Jorgie Porter and Lady Colin Campbell are the first two celebrities to be voted in to a Bushtucker Trial. In a sneak preview of the Disaster Chef trial, Porter is served a Spanish Vom-lette covered in live cockroaches, while Campbell receives one with crickets on it. Will it leave a bad taste in their mouths? Let's see how they get on...

What time is the second ep of I'm a Celeb on TV?

The second episode of IACGMOOH! is on ITV tonight at 9pm, repeated on ITV2 at 10pm.

New celebrities!

Three new reality TV arrivals are set to join the I'm a Celebrity camp, just as this year’s contestants start to get settled into camp life.
TOWIE's Ferne McCannVicky Pattison from Geordie Shore and Made In Chelsea's Spencer Matthews are all set to join the current 10 celebrities in the jungle.
But will the wild weather Down Under see the celebs evacuated?

Get them out of there?

Jorgie Porter and George Shelley might be causing a storm on set with their flirty actions but extreme weather threatens to derail the jungle camp. Hailstones, heavy rain and floods are reported to have already hit and a week of storms rocked the set last week, leaving it powerless. According to the Mirror, the contestants may need to be taken to safety. The last time the celebrities were forced to evacuate was in 2008.
But how are our celebrities recovering from yesterday's antics? What did you make of the first episode of 2015's I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here?
This show always takes a few days to settle down and for the real characters of the contestants to emerge.
But the early signs are that Tony HadleySusannah Constantine andBrian Friedman will be good value and that Lady Colin Campbell will be the surprise success story.
Here are eight more things we learned from episode one of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!

1) Tony Hadley is Gold

The Spandau Ballet man had a rough ride during the Hellevate challenge, being covered in 30,000 cockroaches and grasshoppers but Tony Hadleylooks like he could be a star this series. He took it all very well and enjoyed the larks with Ant and Dec.
The worst thing is when the contestants feel affronted by the humiliation they are being subjected to. Each of them knows exactly what this show is about, which makes it all the more perplexing when people get the hump.
Chris Eubank gave Ant and Dec dry answers, he "zenned out" during the task and offered the following curt advice to Jorgie Porter when she faced the critters in Hellevate: "Take it". Eubank should lighten up.

2) Lady Colin Campbell is great value – but she won't be helping out

Royal biographer Lady Colin Campbell also had a strong first episode.
She was unafraid to send herself up – laughing at the fact she has never been camping – and gave as good as she got when Ant and Dec ribbed her. "You don't want the answer, so don't ask the question," she said when asked how she was feeling after a gruelling time on the riverbank.
You can be sure of one thing, though: Lady Colin Campbell won't be doing anything she doesn't fancy.
During the second task, called Bad Buoys (each team had to pass the buoys along rope to get them to the pontoon), Lady Colin Campbell stood on the shore and shouted her encouragement, rather than getting involved. Something to do with her contact lenses, apparently. That old chestnut (the excuse; not Lady Colin Campbell).

3) Is there a bromance on the cards?

Chris Eubank and Union J's George Shelley appear to have hit it off.
After both headed back to camp (the team that lost each task also lost a team member), Chris was very grateful for George's hug.
It's funny how year after year, unlikely alliances are formed. Last year it was Jake Quickenden and Edwina Currie. Not sure Chris would appreciate that particular comparison, however.

4) Have the tasks become boring?

That was all far too easy, surely? The first task the two teams had to take on was called Tree of Torment but it all went rather too well.
There was an old tree trunk, which contained five hollows, each containg the usual shocks: snakes, rats, crabs etc. Inside the trunk was a key on a wire and each contestant had to put their hand in a hole to pass the key along the wire to the next participant.
Duncan Bannatyne takes a dip in Bad Buoys
No-one seemed to have any problems, although lots of people used the odd phrase: "I can feel it breathing on me". If that's the biggest worry for the celebrities, the producers need to start upping the ante. And fast.
Later, the contestants only had to go for a quick dip in the Bad Buoyschallenge, while Hellevate, with it's pyrotechnics and raised cages, was all style over substance. Two of the contestants – Lady Colin Campbell and Kieron Dyer – didn't even have any cockroaches to contend with.
Then we heard about the first Bushtucker Trial: Disaster Chef, which Jorgie Porter and Lady Colin Campbell will face. Great name, shame about the task: just eating something slightly unpleasant. What else have you got, producers?

5) No-one has yet had a 'Gemma Collins' moment – could it be Kieron Dyer?

Remember the last series when The Only Way is Essex star Gemma Collins refused to get in a helicopter? Well, this year, the I'm a Celebrity... producers have obviously picked contestants with a bit more steel.
Tony Hadley tells us he "doesn't really have any" fears. So, who's going to have that all-important first moment of doubt? Whisper it quietly, but I think it might be one of Kieron Dyer or Chris Eubank. Eubank particularly has betrayed some weakness, saying he is "just a man" and admitting that he is scared of the "unknown".
Although he did point out that "I've fought Nigel Benn and everything's easy after that". I still reckon the knockout blowing is coming.

6) Have we found our first villain?

The X Factor's choreographer Brian Friedman may just have laid down a marker as the nasty man in camp. While Tony Hadley and Susannah Constantine, the first two to arrive on the show and designated team leaders, attempted to pick their team members, we saw a few clips of Friedman.
Quotes included: "I worry about my bitch coming out" and "Life is a competition and I'm winning". Anyway, Susannah picked him, so good luck to her – and the rest of the camp.

7) Ant and Dec are still making us laugh

Celebrities come and go each year but one thing stays the same:presenters Ant and Dec. It hasn't take long for them to prove their still the best me for the job. "We endeavour to put a smile on your face by wiping the smile off their faces," they said after a couple of good jokes at the expense of Tony Hadley. While this pair are presenting, we'll still be watching. Peerless.

8) Twist and shout in the jungle

No, this isn't a dance, it's a twist to how the game is played.
The camp was split into two and Tony Hadley and Susannah Constantinewere the designated team leaders.
Presenters Ant and Dec explained: "You two are now in direct competition with each one another. You'll go head to head in a series of challenges before you reach camp. You won't be doing it alone, you'll do it in teams and right now is your chance to pick those teams."
Here's how the teams shape up.

What time and channel is I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! on TV tonight?

It's a jungle out there – how will the celebrities find life in camp?

Pictures of the new camp have been released and it's fair to say it isn't pretty. Judging from the facilities, the contestants must be thinking Celebrity Big Brother would have been the better option...

When is the first eviction?

No news on this as yet but, if previous series are anything to go by, the celebrities should start getting nervous around day 15. Favourite to be first over that bridge and back into normality is Royal biographer Lady Colin Campbell.
One doesn't get the impression she'll be too sad to leave either. Her motivations for going on the show? Lady Campbell says: "I am doing it for selfish reasons. It will help with the roof at the castle and I want to lose weight."

Foggy returns

One man we won't mind seeing again, however, is last year's winner Carl Fogarty. The multiple World Superbike Championship winner was crowned King of the Jungle at the end of the last series and has confirmed that he is heading back to Oz to do a few I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here NOW! shows on ITV2.
King of the Jungle: Carl Fogarty returns to I'm a Celebrity
"I'm going to go out there for the last week and do a few shows with Laura [Whitmore] and Swashy [Joe Swash] and then handover my crown to the new King or Queen," Fogarty said.
On his time in the jungle, Fogarty said: "I can't watch it back. I just cringe, it's like when I was racing. I can't watch... It is hard. It is really hard... When you get asked to do a trial it's amazing because there is so much waiting around. The best bit was winning, it really was."
When he took the crown last year, Fogarty revealed that it was "the biggest thing that's ever happened in my life", which would no doubt have given plenty of petrol heads the hump.
But clearly the man can't get enough of the show. It's a case of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Back in There!

Who is taking part?

Here is the full list of who you'll be seeing embarrass themselves in the jungle.
Want to find out more about the celebs entering the jungle? ITV have conducted short interviews with the candidates, which you can watch here.
There has been news from an ITV source that a secret female blonde – 'Emmerdale hottie' – will be entering the jungle, which would mean that Jorgie Porter is not the only young blonde soap star to take part in the show. Is this true or is it just a rumour? We'll have to tune in at the weekend to find out. According to the source, however, "she will be instantly recognisable". We'll be the judge of that.

Tony Hadley

Spandau Ballet’s Tony Hadley reckons the jungle will be far tougher than performing to thousands of fans on stage.
He is terrified of cockroaches and many of his celebrity friends have been trying to persuade him to do the show for years. “When you go on stage and you have a set of songs to sing, you know you will be ok,” explains Tony. “But with this, you just don’t know. It is stepping into the unknown.

Spencer Matthews

I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! 2015: Spencer MatthewsSpencer Matthews  Photo: Copyright (c) 2014 Rex Features. No use without permission.
The rumours were (probably) true – 'Made In Chelsea' star Spencer Matthews has seemingly decided to make a career out of reality TV and has extended that into the jungle.
ITV have not confirmed that he is definitely appearing - but they often add celebrities to the show as time goes on, and The Sun reported that he will definitely be entering the jungle.
An ITV spokesperson said: "The line up includes 10 celebs, which is (more or less) the same as previous line-up announcements made ahead of TX1." This was a clear hint that more celebs could be entering the show later on.
Apparently, many women find him attractive, and as a well-known loverat he is surely going to find romance with one of the women in the jungle.
This is his third reality TV show – he also appeared in Channel 5's The Bachelor.

Jorgie Porter

Ms. Porter, of Hollyoaks fame, will be joining the other celebrities in the jungle.
She was pulled in last minute after former Hollyoaks star Steph Davis was ditched due to a severe nut allergy.
The star told The Sun that she is "kind of single", so perhaps she will find love Down Under.

Ferne McCann

I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! 2015 : Ferne McCannFerne McCann  Photo: Rex Features
There is a proud tradition of TOWIE stars entering the jungle, and Ms. McCann is due to follow in the footsteps of co-stars Gemma Collins, Joey Essex and Mark Wright by joining the show.
She has been described as "gobby" and ITV bosses have said to The Sun that they are looking forward to her conversations on the show.

Vicky Pattison

I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! 2015: Vicky PattisonVicky Pattison  Photo: Copyright (c) 2014 Rex Features. No use without permission.
Ms. Pattison rose to fame on Geordie Shore, where she was one of the more firy and controversial characters.
She is now a fitness fanatic after leaving the show in 2014 to star in her own show 'Judge Geordie' and MTV’s highest rating show 'Ex On The Beach.'
The star is also a published author - her novel is called "A Christmas Kiss."
The Sun claimed they know for a fact she is entering the jungle.

Chris Eubank

I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! 2015: Chris EubankChris Eubank  Photo: Rex Features
The rumours were true - Mr. Eubank will indeed be joining the rest of the contestants in the jungle.
The boxing champ is sure to be a firm favourite with his quirky sense of humour and interesting philosophies on life.
He's believed to be this year’s biggest signing - apparently ITV paid £200,000 to get him on board.

Kieron Dyer

The ex-England midfielder has been confirmed as an 'I'm A Celeb' contestant.
The former Newcastle star is unlikely to have a jungle romance - he got married last year.

Susannah Constantine

I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! 2015: Susannah ConstantineSusannah Constantine  Photo: Copyright (c) 2011 Rex Features. No use without permission.
Have you missed Trinny and Susannah? Half of the duo is entering the jungle, although as they have to all wear identical outfits, not much styling will take place, unless she improvises with leaves and bark.
It's rumoured that she, like Eubank, was offered £200k to join the show.
It’s also alleged she decided to join the show in a bid to reboot her TV career.

Yvette Fielding

This one wasn't such a surprise - the Most Haunted star was using the #ImACeleb hashtag on some misguided, and hastily deleted, tweets.
She is best known for presenting Blue Peter and still holds the record for the show’s youngest presenter aged just 19.

Brian Friedman

I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! 2015: Brian FriedmanBrian Friedman  Photo: Rex Features
Another rumour that turned out to be correct - the X Factor choreographer has been confirmed as a jungle contestant.
Sources claimed Brian is sick of being behind the scenes and wants to make a name for himself in front of the camera.

George Shelley

Another reality TV veteran, Mr. Shelley rose to fame on The X Factor in boyband Union J.
They finished fourth in the show, but that didn't stop him gaining a host of committed female fans.
It also didn't stop the band being quite successful - they have had two Top Ten hits.

Lady Colin Campbell

Royal biographer Lady Colin Campbell is likely to be an interesting character in the jungle.
She exposed Princess Diana’s affairs and battle with bulimia in a series of controversial books.
The biographer said that as she has never once watched the show and doesn't excercise, she doesn't think she will be ready for the trials.

Duncan Bannatyne

The rumours were correct! Duncan Bannatyne will be entering the jungle.
He quit Dragon's Den after 10 years this year so is ready for pastures (or jungles!) new.
The 66-year-old will doubtless be sad to leave his 35-year-old girlfriend behind as he joins the show.

If you were only watching to see Gemma Collins, don't worry

She is not going to be in the main show, but sources have confirmed that she will definitely be appearing in spin-off show "I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here...Now!"

What will the Bushtucker Trials be like this year?

If the rumours are to be believed, this year is going to be even tougher for the celebrities. A whole host of new Bushtucker trials have been revealed, including one that involves sheep testicles.
Another of the new trials is said to be called "Sun Scream" and involves contestants smearing gruesome concoctions, including bugs and fish guts, over each others' skin. A source told the Daily Star: "Ant and Dec had better pack gas masks."
• I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! former winners
And then there's those aforementioned sheep's testicles to deal with. This trial apparently works like a normal limbo, but as the celebrities bend under the cane, they have to have 10 sheep testicles dangled in their mouths.
Oh, and the food in the eating challenges has apparently stepped up a notch as well: dishes of the day will include duck feet, cow lips, bush pig semen, camel penis porridge, boiled sheep testicles and rat tail soup.

And a couple of final thoughts...
