Gospel Artiste Buchi Atuonwu Loses Mother

Reggae gospel singer Buchi Atuonwu has lost his mother, Mrs. Okechinyere Atuonwu. He revealed this on his facebook page on November, 11, 2015. 

According to Leadership, late Mrs. Okechinyere was a school teacher who travelled the length and breadth of the country between 1951 and 1983 as she impacted many lives with her teaching.
She taught in cities like Maiduguri, Jos, Kaduna, Minna, Owerri, Enugu and Bauchi.
She also served in various capacities at the Methodist church as well as her community in Oboro, Ikwunao, Abia state.
Mrs. Alice Okechinyere Atuonwu was born in Calabar. She attended the Hope Waddell Institute where she graduated with a first school leaving certificate. She then proceeded to obtain a Teachers’ Grade III Certificate in 1954.
On November 11, the reggae star shared a eulogy on his facebook page talking about how his mother caught a glimpse of heaven and was quite pleased to leave earth for a better place.
He wrote: “My mother has gone.
“She was quite pleased to go.
“When you catch a glimpse of heaven,
“Earth becomes unbearable.
“Farewell, Mma.”
Buchi Atuonwu is a reggae artiste who studied English Language and Literature at the University of Lagos.
He is renowned for hit albums such as These Days, So Beautiful and What A Life.
